About this opportunity

Bellevue Youth Link is a youth leadership and community service program cosponsored by the city and Bellevue School District. Since 1990, Youth Link has been giving youth in the community a voice and opportunity to create change. The Bellevue Youth Council is a membership body that helps promote youth programs, provides leadership roles, and runs community service projects through Action Teams. Youth have the opportunity to lead and plan Youth Link's special events throughout the year. The Youth Council meets the first and third Wednesday of every month.\n\nParticipants can join various Action Teams including BYTE Back Tech, Community Leadership Awards Planning, Diversity, Kids Care Coat Drive, Teen Café Youth Mental Health Project, Youth Climate Action, Youth Homelessness, Youth Involvement Conference Planning, Youth Planners, Food Pantry Project, and more. Special events include Youth Involvement Conference, Community Leadership Awards, Gumbo Night, Unity Through Diversity celebration, and Summer Outdoor Leadership Camp.\n\nThe Youth Link Board consists of 12 youth and six adults who advise the City Manager on youth issues and advocate for system-level change.

What you'll do

• Join action teams focused on tech, mental health, climate, homelessness, and diversity initiatives
• Plan and lead community service projects
• Participate in youth council meetings held twice monthly
• Lead and organize special events throughout the year
• Advocate for system-level change on youth issues as part of the Youth Link Board
• Contribute to community leadership awards and youth involvement conference planning
