About this opportunity

Georgetown partners with joint employer and labor groups (JATCs), individual employers, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to offer pre-apprenticeship programs. These bridge programs prepare individuals for entry into apprenticeship programs by providing foundational skills, math instruction, technical skills training, job readiness instruction, safety training and certifications, and exposure to specific trades. Pre-apprentices earn college credits for completing their program and have access to other student resources including discounted transportation passes and emergency funding assistance. Programs typically run from several weeks to a few months, 3-5 days per week. Participants may receive compensation in the form of a daily stipend depending on the program. Tuition can be covered by workforce funding or grants from various sources.
