Summer Leadership Impact Program (SLIP)

About this opportunity

SLIP is a 4-6 week program conducted from mid-July to mid-August for 15 high school age participants. The experiential curriculum focuses on deepening knowledge of socio-environmental issues impacting outdoor recreation and historically marginalized communities. Participants explore climate change, ocean health, equitable access to public lands, strengthen leadership and advocacy skills, build community with peers, and gain exposure to career opportunities. The program includes summer adventures such as surfing, camping, and climbing, along with field trips and overnight retreats.

What you'll do

• Strengthen leadership, planning, and advocacy skills
• Build community with other high school teens
• Gain exposure to career opportunities in environmental and outdoor fields
• Participate in summer adventures including surfing, camping, and rock climbing

Requirements

Applications are currently closed. Interested students can fill out an interest form for next year. Graduating CP Alums are encouraged to apply, particularly those considering a Peer Leader role in the fall.
