Girls Who Code Clubs Program

About this opportunity

Girls Who Code Clubs are free programs for all 3rd-12th graders of any skill level to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Clubs offer fun activities through a flexible curriculum that adapts to students' unique needs and can be integrated into STEM-focused classes or take place after school, on weekends, or during the summer. The program operates both in-person and online.\n\nGrades 3-5 explore foundational computer science concepts and practice computational thinking through hands-on activities, including a new AI Literacy Unit. Grades 6-12 can choose their own learning paths from a library of self-guided video tutorials covering coding languages and project-based curriculum in web development, cybersecurity, game design, and artificial intelligence.\n\nGirls Who Code partners with school districts, library networks, and afterschool programs to launch Clubs across the country. Facilitators (teachers, librarians, parents, and volunteers) receive dedicated support including a Program Implementation Specialist and access to a Facilitator Toolkit with training and resources.

What you'll do

• Learn foundational computer science concepts and computational thinking skills (Grades 3-5)
• Explore coding languages and project-based learning in web development, cybersecurity, game design, and AI (Grades 6-12)
• Participate in hands-on activities using BlockJam's drag-and-drop interface
• Build projects that address real challenges using industry-relevant technology
• Connect with role models and women working in tech careers
• Engage with emerging technology through AI literacy units and interactive activities
