About this opportunity

AmeriCorps NCCC Traditional Corps is a full-time, 10-month national service experience that provides housing, travel, and hands-on leadership development. Volunteers work alongside nonprofits, local, state, and federal agencies, faith-based organizations, and tribal groups on projects such as environmental stewardship, infrastructure improvement, long-term disaster recovery, tax preparation, and urban and rural development. During service, volunteers receive basic expenses including communal housing and meals, all program-related travel, a modest living allowance, leadership and technical skills training, and forbearance for federally backed student loans. After completion, volunteers receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of over $7,300, access to a network of employers of national service, and education-related benefits from schools of national service. Volunteers are trained at campuses in Sacramento, CA or Aurora, CO, then deployed to project locations throughout the country. The program emphasizes team-based service and developing leaders while making meaningful community impact.
