About this opportunity

Guitar Building is a course designed to put creative exploration into hands-on applications as students use skills from woodworking (no previous training required), mathematics (algebra), electronics (soldering & wiring), and chemistry (specialized finishes). Students will build a solid-body electric guitar that is 100% playable and theirs to keep. This course will NOT instruct how to play the electric guitar. The course emphasizes hands-on learning across multiple STEM disciplines.

What you'll do

Learn woodworking techniques and build a solid-body electric guitar
Apply algebra and mathematics to design and measurement
Practice electronics skills including soldering and wiring
Use chemistry knowledge to apply specialized finishes

No previous training required, but woodworking experience is helpful
