About this opportunity

Food Lifeline is looking for volunteers to support Shop the Dock, an innovative program that quickly distributes food close to the end of its shelf life to agencies for use at meal programs, shelters, or same-day distributions. Every Thursday morning, volunteers work at the warehouse epicenter of food distribution, supporting agency partners, keeping operations running smoothly, and restocking coolers and dry food areas. The role involves going back and forth from the warehouse to replenish food as agencies arrive, sometimes with 10 or more arriving at once. Volunteers will gain a deeper understanding of how the food security system operates and meet agencies from across the network.\n\nFood Lifeline volunteers report a highly positive atmosphere with appreciative staff and a strong sense of fulfillment from contributing to food security efforts in the community.
