A competitive, 8-week full-time paid summer internship for 11th-12th graders in biomedical research. Includes lab training, mentored research activities, professional development workshops, and presentations at the Fred Hutch in Seattle.

What you'll do

  • Participate in two weeks of hands-on training in laboratory safety and techniques with Fred Hutch scientists
  • Work in paired mentored activities within a Fred Hutch research group for six weeks
  • Attend research seminars and learn about current biomedical research
  • Participate in professional development workshops focused on college and career preparation
  • Engage in team social activities with peers and mentors
  • Present research findings to the Fred Hutch community, family, and friends

Requirements

Must be entering senior year, have strong scientific interest and academic background, be 16+ years old, currently reside in Greater Seattle or surrounding areas, able to attend Zoom interview, and available for entire 8-week program in Seattle. No out-of-state or international students. Must secure own transportation. Program does not provide housing.
