Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Teens

About this opportunity

A 13-week work-based learning experience through Boys & Girls Clubs of King County (part of YouthForce) that transitions youth into entry-level advanced manufacturing jobs and other apprenticeship pathways. The program is run in partnership with the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) and Truman High School. Participants gain industry-recognized credentials including CPR, first aid, and OSHA certifications that prepare them for manufacturing jobs in aerospace, machinery manufacturing, food processing, and bio-medical services industries.

• Participate in work-based learning experiences
• Prepare for entry-level advanced manufacturing positions

Requirements

Program targets youth ages 16-24, particularly those facing historically higher unemployment rates. Currently offered in Federal Way; expansion to Renton/Skyway Club planned for 2022.
