The Pre-Nursing program is a foundational exploration of the essential knowledge and skills needed to embark on a career in healthcare. This course serves as a critical stepping stone for individuals with a passion for patient care and a desire to explore the nursing field. Students will delve into the fundamentals of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as healthcare ethics and professionalism. Through a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on training, students will learn the skills needed to care for patients as a Nursing Assistant. Students will also obtain further hands-on experience with patient care at a variety of clinical settings. Upon successful completion of this program, students will become a nursing assistant-certified and qualified to work in healthcare facilities. The program offers approved equivalency credit (full school year): 1.0 Career (CTE), 1.0 Health, 1.0 Lab Science, and college credits through Green River College and Highline College in healthcare-related courses.
