Secondary Robotics Fulfillment Center Tour

About this opportunity

On the Secondary (Grades 6+) Robotics Fulfillment Center Tour, students discover what happens behind the scenes from when a customer clicks "order" to the order being delivered. Students learn how hardware, software, and people work together to pick, pack, quality control, and ship orders around the globe. The 45-minute interactive tour is aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards. At the end of the tour, students meet a hardware engineer, software development engineer, and systems/solutions engineer. The tour is available for FREE on Kahoot! and includes accompanying Teacher Toolkit materials with facilitation guides, worksheets, and student certificates. Available in English and Spanish.

What you'll do

• Learn how Amazon fulfillment systems work from order to delivery
• Explore the roles of hardware, software, and robotics in warehouse automation
• Meet real Amazon engineers (hardware engineer, software development engineer, systems/solutions engineer)
• Understand concepts like algorithms, databases, robotics, sensors, quality control, cloud computing, and machine learning
• Answer interactive poll questions about career interests and tour satisfaction

Requirements

Recommended for grades 6+. Individual students can also play independently without a class. No personal student data is collected. Teachers can optionally use free Kahoot! accounts to track student progress.
