Ready for Fair is a documentary series featuring three passionate Virginia 4-H'ers—Trey Daubert (14), Sutton Swecker (14), and Wyatt Holloway (17)—as they prepare for the Rockingham County Fair in August 2026. The series captures their behind-the-scenes work raising and training livestock, from early morning feedings to competition in the arena. Participants showcase various projects including dairy cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits, market steers, market lambs, and market goats. Beyond Fair competition, 4-H'ers develop critical skills including livestock judging, stockmen's contests knowledge (breed identification, meat evaluation, animal health), and meats judging. The program emphasizes building leadership, resilience, and confidence that extend far beyond the show ring.

What you'll do

• Raise and train livestock for competition (cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits)
• Participate in livestock judging and stockmen's contests
• Learn breed identification, meat evaluation, and animal health skills
• Compete in meats judging and other county/state/national shows
• Develop leadership and resilience through hands-on agricultural projects

Requirements

4-H club membership in Virginia required. Program features youth aged 9-17 with agricultural project experience.
