About this opportunity

The Dental Assisting program is a CTE course designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in dental healthcare. This program provides students with essential knowledge and practical skills required to support dentists and ensure smooth operation of a dental practice. As a dental assistant, students will be at the forefront of patient care, helping with treatments, maintaining equipment, and managing administrative tasks. The course covers a wide range of topics, including infection control, radiography, dental procedures, and patient communication. Through a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on training, students learn how to assist with dental examinations, perform chairside duties, and provide vital support in a dental office. Students earn 1.0 credits in Careers (CTE), 1.0 Lab Science, and 1.0 Health. College credits are also available through Highline College (HEAL 102, 218, 226, 238) and Renton Technical College (AMATH 161G).
