LEAP (Leaders for Ethics, Animals, and the Planet)

About this opportunity

LEAP is a revolutionary humane education program designed specifically for high school students who love animals. Hosted by 32 participating farmed animal sanctuaries across the nation, LEAP combines interactive curriculum modules with hands-on learning activities, leadership training, and real-world skill development. LEAP aims to prepare the next generation of changemakers to tackle the challenges of animal cruelty, climate change, food deserts, and habitat loss, and encourages them to devise solutions for a more compassionate, sustainable food system. During the school year for approximately 10 hours per month, students will meet at Pasado's Safe Haven to care for rescued animals, assist with infrastructure projects, and participate in a humane education curriculum, all culminating in an annual scholarship competition and final group presentation to family and friends. LEAPers will meet on the third Saturday of each month from 10am-3pm at Pasado's Safe Haven in Monroe, WA. LEAPers will also be required to complete 4 service hours per month during November-June of the session.

What you'll do

Requirements

Must have reliable transportation to participating chapter. Must be available to meet monthly time commitments.
