About this opportunity

The Port of Seattle's High School Internship Program provides paid internship opportunities for high school students to gain real work experience on meaningful projects. Interns work at locations including SEA Airport and the Seattle waterfront across five career focus areas: Aviation Operations, Maritime Operations, Governance, Community Engagement, and Green Jobs. The program is designed to teach corporate environment skills including the Port's Code of Conduct, communications technology, diversity and inclusion, process improvement, project management, networking, public speaking, and leadership. Throughout the summer, interns participate in career awareness activities such as mentorship meetings, facility tours, LinkedIn 101, and resume workshops.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old before the beginning of internship. Currently enrolled in high school, recently graduated (no more than 12 months), or in a GED completion program. Ideal candidates have demonstrated project completion ability, volunteer experience, and/or extracurricular participation. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
