Students explore how data centers keep their data safe and sustainable, learning about evaporative cooling systems, redundancy and sensors for data availability, cyber and physical security measures, and sustainability efforts to protect the environment. The tour features careers including Data Center Engineer Operator (DCEO), control technician, cybersecurity specialist, and sustainability specialist. The 45-minute interactive tour is available on Kahoot! and is aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards. A Teacher Toolkit is provided with facilitation guides, worksheets, and other resources to support learning.
